After I finished High School in my country,
Brazil, I trained to get into college. I trained for one, two,
three years and finally I got in. I was very happy, I couldn't
believe I did it.
Months after, my two best friends were ready
to come to the USA. They had been my friends for more than
fifteen years, so
how could I be without them. After thinking about it, I decided
to put my dream on hold and came with them in December 2001.
I have been here for four years, many good things
happened to me but, I always had in the back of my mind, my dream.
When I
began my ESL class I spoke to the director about my dream,
she said it was possible.
After that day I started to take my
English class very serious. I have been working on that for
years. Today I have my application
at college for 2006. When I will finish I don’t know, but
one thing I know, never give up on your dream, believe in yourself,
it doesn’t matter what your dream is.
