Remember to Forget

Nannette Flagg

Forget when you were always high,
Remember all the people that passed you by.
Forget the times you wanted to die,
Remember now that life was a lie.

Forget the times your head was hazy,
Remember how life drove you crazy.
Forget how he said he would treat you best,
Remember now he's like all the rest.

Forget about the needle in your arm,
Remember only about all the harm.
Forget you thought you would never be straight,
Remember now that your like is great.

Forget all the pain in past,
Remember how you want this freedom to last.
Forget the people, who think being straight is gay,
Remember only that you are happy today.

Forget you often forgot to pray,
Remember God sees you any way.
Forget the life you used to live,
Remember how God will always forgive.

Forget how you always told God no,
Remember now how he saved your soul.
Forget how you were scared to start,
Remember now freedom is in your heart.
