The Unforgettable Person In Person

Nancy Ortiz

There is a big misconception about mothers in law. I hear people say so many bad things about mothers in law. For example, they say they are not very loving, that they like to take sides, and many other things.

Believe it or not, my mother in law was a very special person to me. She has passed away, but the memories will never fade away of how loving she was and about the things she taught me.

One thing she taught me was the values of being a good wife and mother. She taught me how to take my place as the woman of the house and not the man of the house. She said to me, "In the future, this will help you," and it has helped me.

I also learned from my mother in law that early discipline with my children would be a good thing. In the future, when they get older and get married, they are not perfect, but when you teach them well and discipline them, you see what they are becoming. It's the greatest feeling in the world.

I've been married now for 20 years to a wonderful man. We have four children who are very special to us. I thank God first of all and my mother in law, who to me was just a mother in law. She is no longer with us, but she will always be the most unforgettable person in my life.
