Holidays

Fresnel Cantave

Holidays are very historic days in America. They are symbols of this country.

Martin Luther King Day is an official holiday because white and black people think justice is for everyone of us. Mr.. King believed we are all Americans. We have to work together for the benefit of America and for our young generation. We must stand up for our rights.

Another important holiday is Thanksgiving. The native American people seriously regard this holiday. It means union and fraternity. It is a day most American people travel miles and miles to meet and eat together. Thanksgiving Day is a gift to the American people, we have faith in God. This traditional holiday will never be left behind or forgotten.

Fourth of July is another holiday that American people celebrate. We are free and honor this country. We fought for this country. We fought for our independence. We put our trust in our men and women in uniform who dedicate their lives to make us free.

Veterans Day means a lot to us. We remember our men and women from the army and navy who gave their lives for our country. November 11 is not a party day. It is a day to remember our veterans who served America.

Some Haitians joined America to be part of the American Independence. They fought in our World War 1 and 2 for our benefit. America we love you. We will continue to pray for our soldiers in Iraq. Armistice Day became a national holiday in 1938. In 1934 congress changed the name to Veterans Day. W e remember all veterans on this day.

America we love you and we will continue to pray for our troops who work hard for the cause of America.

GOD BLESS US!
