It was 17th of November evening.
For some special reason there wasn’t our regular E.S.O.L. class at the ‘Bartlett
School.’ So, we decided to make different project for that
evening. We have to choose the place, where we would have the
class. After we heard everybody’s opinion, we decided
to go to Colonial Restaurant. Everybody had to order their
own food
by themselves. And we discussed Food Pyramid. How much vitamins
those were in the food. We were very excited for that evening. Finally that evening
came. Everybody went by themselves to the Colonial Restaurant.
We were six people over there. Our teacher Mr. Mitch Krouner,
Mr. Raul, Ana, Ethel, my husband and I. we said ‘Hi-Hello’ to
everybody. Then, everybody ordered appetizers and drinks. For
appetizers we had nachos soft bread and butter. Some ordered
hard drink and others soft drinks. After appetizers; everybody
ordered food and whatever they liked. My husband and I ordered
pasta. I did not remember what the other people ordered. While
eating the food, we were talking about nutrition in our food.
We also talked about different foods of different countries and
about different countries’ traditions.
Now I tell you about the Colonial Restaurant’s decoration.
It was simple but nice decoration. In three corners there was
fall decoration. They put in each of the three corners a pumpkin
and fall color leaves, also were there some candles, too. It
looked simple and nice. We had excellent service for everything.
The girl who was serving us was talkative, smiling and very nice.
After the dinner, the Colonial Restaurant’s owner told
us about history of Webster and the Colonial Restaurant. It was
a very terrible flood that came in the year 1958 from the river.
The town was filled with the French river’s flood water.
Because of the floor, the original Colonial Restaurant collapsed.
After that they fixed the restaurant. It was very interesting
story of the Webster town.
After we were done with everything, we said thanks to our waitress
and the owner of the Colonial Restaurant. We really enjoyed that
evening. We had a nice time and talking to each other and getting
closer with everyone. Actually, it was a great project for our
ESOL program. It even happened outside the class room
