I had an accident in Honduras fourteen years
ago. It is very difficult for me to think about it. One day my
sister and I went to a special party in our church. We were walking
on the sidewalk when something happened. A man was driving drunk
and he drove his car back fast and climbed up onto the sidewalk
and hit my back very hard. I pushed my sister with my body very
hard. My sister broke her nose, and I almost died because I got
knocked on the head. I was bleeding from the nose, ears, and
mouth. When the people saw that, they came to help us, but nobody
could touch me because I couldn't breathe. The people thought
I was dead. Minutes after I began to breathe. Then the people
had to pick me up to bring me to the hospital, but they didn't
have any medicine. They put me on the side for five days without
any medicine only saline solution. The smell was terrible. My
mother told me that my body was covered in blood and dirt. Nobody
took care of me for five days. Finally, my mother found a better
hospital. I was in that hospital for twenty days. I began to
feel a terrible pain in my head. I began to know the people twenty
six days after the accident. I was in a coma all that time. But
now I am very good. Thank God.
