I come from Cuenca, Ecuador. It is high in
the Andes Mountains
of South America. I came to the United States the first time
at the age
of ten with an American man. His name is Larry. He was a college
student
in Cuenca and rented an apartment from my uncle and we became
friends. I
stayed here for a month. Larry married my sister, and they moved
to the
United States.
The second time that I came here was in 1993
and the third was 2000. I
like the United States because there are more options to work
and the
laws are straight. Now I am working in a Staples distribution
center in
Connecticut. It is a little far from Worcester, but I like
this job. I
drive a truck in a warehouse. I want to learn more English
because I
want to go to college. It's a little hard because I only get
three or
four hours of sleep a day, but I have to do it for my future.
