Family Stories I’ve Heard Over and Over Again

Sambo Moul

When I was young my parents always used to tell me a story how they used to live their life in Cambodia. My mother always used to tell me how it was like to live out there in the country. She lived in a village, and the animals around her house were chickens, roosters, and cows. Where she lived was more like a farm. She had to wake up early in the morning and take care of the animals. One thing about the weather in Cambodia is that it always rained. She always told me how gorgeous Angkor Wat was, when you got to the top of it because you could see the jungle that surrounded it. The best time to catch a nice view was in the morning because that’s the time the sun came out. Angkor Wat is a temple and a lot of people do their prayers there, and also the monks. It’s a nice place to visit. My mom kept telling me to go and check it out, but I kept telling her no, because I was too young and scared to go down there. But now that I’m all grown up I wouldn’t mind visiting there someday.
