The first car I ever got was from a friend.
I was working for him and he told me that he had to call a
tow truck for two 87
Honda Accords. I asked him what was wrong with them and he
said one was rusty and the other one was in good shape but the
rusty
one starts up and the other doesn’t. Then he told me, “I
bought them the same to make one car, but it’s too much
work. What you can do is put pieces in to the good one and
make a good car and throw away the rusty one. So if you want
you can
have the cars but it’s got to be out of my lot within
a week.”
So in three days I moved them to my sister’s lot and it
took me a month to put all the pieces from one car to the other.
It took me another month to get it on the road. Once I had it
running, my girlfriend was getting mad because I was up and down
with the car and going out to clubs partying, so we got into
an argument over the car and she said, “Since you’ve
got that car you don’t spend time with me.” I told
her that the car didn’t mean anything to me and she said, “Give
me the car!” I said, “Here are the keys and be careful.
It doesn’t have power steering so take your time turning.”
Since she had the car she thought I wouldn’t
be able to go out that night. She didn’t know that I was going
out to Boston with friends. I came home very late and the next
morning my mother told me my girlfriend had been looking for
me. She was very upset and asked me where I was last night. We
argued about having something to eat and I got the keys and went
out to the car. When I started it up there was a very loud noise
every time I accelerated the car. I opened the door and looked
under the car and there was no muffler. I went back into the
house and my girlfriend and her sister were laughing. I asked
her what happened to the car and where was the muffler and she
said, “Last night I was mad and I cut through the alley.
There were potholes. I was going fast and hit a pothole and the
whole muffler broke. It’s in the trunk.” I put so
much work into that car and she broke so I went out and put a
For Sale sign on my car and sold it!
